CAPA Green Youth Garden Project – Home Grow Kit Distribution
Let It Grow! Want to engage our youth members with gardening? With partnerships and collaboration with the Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) and the Washington Youth Garden (WYG), CAPA Green is supporting our families with their garden-based learning at home with our Grow@Home kits. The Home Kits provide everything our youth members need to get started growing their own food at home! Kits include seed packets of different vegetables, germination bags, growing medium, a small pot, and an activity guide with science experiments. Our teen members are welcome to participate by themselves or paired with younger siblings and neighbors and help to document the progress and provide feedback! We as CAPA Green hope that you can join us to help out the community, improving the world one seed at a time.
Participation requirement:
CAPA Youth members. Follow up progress report and feedback, such as bi-weekly pictures or video, progress report in 8-10 weeks after receiving the kits are required. Community service hours (up to 10 hours) will be provided based on efforts of involvement.
