2025 CAPA Civic Internship Program

In partnership with 12 state and local elected representatives, CAPA is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 Civic Internship Program.

The primary aim of this initiative is to provide training opportunities for underrepresented high school and college students with an interest in public service. By fostering civic engagement and involvement in public policy, we aspire to cultivate a new generation of leaders and encourage their eventual participation in public office.

The program is scheduled to commence in June with comprehensive training sessions designed to equip interns with the necessary skills to excel in a professional setting, particularly within the realm of public service. Following the training phase, selected interns will have the opportunity to work alongside elected officials throughout the summer. The working hours can be mutually agreed upon between interns and their respective officials, with a minimum commitment of 80 hours.

This year, CAPA will organize a DC Capitol tour in August, providing interns with additional learning opportunities. Interns will also have the chance to showcase their work at CAPA’s 10th Anniversary Gala on September 28th. Throughout the program, we will offer various networking opportunities and professional development resources to further support participants’ growth.

The selection process will entail a written application, an interview conducted by the CAPA team, and a subsequent interview with the elected official with whom the intern is matched. A program administration fee of $650 will be required upon acceptance, though this fee will be waived for individuals facing financial constraint.
