CAPA-HC hosted the 2nd Dragon Boat Festival to celebrate a traditional Chinese holiday, Duanwu Jie. We invited the Baltimore Dragon Boat Club to demonstrate dragon boat racing at the Centennial Park. This event attracted more than 200 residents.
At the event, we raised $1,000 to help the Ellicott City flood victims and donated through the Community Foundation of Howard County. CAPA plans to establish a tradition to donate to local charitable causes each year through annual Duanwu Jie celebration.
